What cord?
The PV-GS85 is a MiniDV tape camcorder. To transfer videos on either a PC or Mac, you'll need a FireWire cable. The camera has a 4-pin FireWire port, labeled "DV." Your computer may have a 4-pin, 6-pin, or 9-pin FireWire port. Many iMacs have had 6-pin ports, but the newest ones have 9-pin ones. Look up images of FireWire ports to see what they look like. Your PC, if it has one, will have either a 4-pin or 6-pin port. So, you'll need a cable with a 4-pin end for the camera, and the other end to fit whatever you're plugging it into.
You can NOT use USB to transfer video with this camera. That's for still photos.
Get the right FireWire cable for your combination of devides, plug it in and set your camera in playback mode, start up iMovie or Windows Movie Maker, and you're set.
