Panasonic Lumix DMC-G2 or Canon EOS Rebel T1i?

I'm looking for a camera to start off my professional photography career. Just to be clear, i am already well established as a digital artist and would like to be able to also offer photography in my set of skills, therefore i want a camera that is both professional grade and somewhat affordable since i am also spending quite a bit on other necessities. So as far as choices i've narrowed it down. The Lumix DMC-G2 seems to be very liked for its size and quality for that size but i'm not too worried about it. The t1i is a big favorite but the prices i have found set it at 100$ more. If anyone has tried either of these i'd like to know which would be your preference and if the t1i is, is it worth the 100$ more?

p.s. i often use manual exposure mode and enjoy shooting with a shallow depth of field. I've often found with my current camera (the powershot sx120is) that there is quite a bit of noise especially in darker lighting. This is probably just because its not the best camera to begin with but if i can avoid this when upgrading it would be great.
