Two year old Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 camera seems to now have a black spot appearing on pictures, and on the viewing screen. Zooming in makes the spot more defined whilst normal zoom the spot is more blurry. I have cleaned outside of the lens and there seems to be no dust inside. Would this mean the CCD has been damaged somehow?

Am I right in saying that the black spot is there on the screen and when you view images on computer?

That would narrow it down to the internal optics or the sensor. While the changing nature of the spot sounds more like a lens related issue, usually dust on the lens does not show up very easily. So I would be inclined to it's something to do with the sensor.

Most cameras have a manufacturers warranty of one year, however you may have purchased additional cover for up to five years. If you have any warranty left on the camera it would probably be a simple claim provided you haven't damaged the camera beyond normal wear and tear.
