Panasonic GH1 using Sigma Lenses?

I am purchasing a Sigma telephoto zoom lens "Sigma - Telephoto zoom lens - 135 mm - 400 mm - f/4.5-5.6 DG APO Aspherical - Canon EF" That is for Canon EF as it says, i am planning on buying an adaptor, but i saw a few places around the internet about using Sigma lenses without an adaptor, so you can use the auto-focus feature. etc.
