Panasonic DMR-EZ28 remote control question?

I have a new Panasonic DMR-EZ28. If I manually operate it, it plays DVDs fine, but I can't get the remote to work at all, so I can't program it to record. Any thoughts on what the problem might be? (The batteries are brand new.) For example, I'm wondering if I need a remote control code, but there's no such code listed in the manual. All the codes are for other DVR models.
 
hello i have the same one the remote is preprogramed for the dvd recorder u might need tooo put a code in for the tv. if its new call panasonic customer support there great i had a issue with my first dvd recorder they were a big help!!!!!!!!!
