I adopted a golden retriever mix from the shelter on May 1st, by the second week she had parvo, before the SECOND vet I took her to finally diagnosed her with parvo and gave me the treatments, I had originally taken her to a vet that said it may be an upset stomach from eating something she shouldnt have or some type of worm or parasite that didn't show up on the fecal, so she gave me panacur to start the pup on if her symptoms improved within a few days, well needless to say she worsened and then was treated for parvo and it was sucessful and she's been doing great, on Monday I had noticed tapeworms in her stool, and since I had the panacur I started her on that and have since given her the three doses, she does have a vet appointment tomorrow, but I wanted to know since the tapeworm doesn't show up on a fecal and I haven't seen any worms in her stool, she did drop some of the 'rice looking segments' yesterday but I have been careful to each evening clean her crate with a bleach mixture to ensure it is clean, I guess I'm curious what the shelf life of a tapeworm is, or if anyone has had success with panacur and tapeworm, she is eating ok now, but I have noticed she's a little "pouty", but I have to mention I have kept her crated with well supervised exercise to let her stretch her legs, and regular potty breaks, to ensure she isn't dropping the segments etc all over the house to prevent her from continuing to become infested. She was treated with frontline May 3rd (had to bathe her after the adoption so I waited the 2 days before applying) and is due for her next treatment in a few days which I"ll be getting tomorrow at the vet.. Does anyone have any advice or anything??? Her coat is somewhat oily and she is sitting alot still on her butt and she actually goes in her crate and lays down when the doors are open and she has freedom to play, she's drinking A TON, I hope I don't sound like an idiot asking about this...
