According to PalmInfocenter.com, it's official - palmOne is releasing an SDIO format WiFi card for the Tungsten T3 and Zire 72 handhelds. The 802.11b/g card is said to have good range and easy setup, but power hungry and - at $129 - a "tad expensive".

Pre-orders are supposedly being accepted with shipments to retail locations to begin the week of September 3rd.

Make sure you put a label on it!

And of course no mention if there is any on board memory. Various sites report 128MB but nothing concrete.

What a mess...two years late and WAY too expensive - IMHO.

Seeing is believing when this upgrade actually ships. I've fallen for this for two years now :)

This is going to sound strange....I may hold off buying or not even buy at all. I guess I'm fed up with the 2 year late launch and I'm not sure I want to throw more $$ into my T3.

Anyone confirm if the card has any memory on it for sure?
Palm's web site does not state there is any memory on the card. In that case it would be a pain to have to constantly switch between SD memory and WiFi card.

Update: Confirmed now - there is NO memory on the card. What a pain..
