Palm TX problems with SMS & Lotus Organizer

I'm still getting used to my new TX - the new version of Palm Desktop seems to have broken Lotus EasySync of Organizer 5, which was working quite happily with my T3. Now I've got to figure out whether any of the other sync tools will do the same job. Sigh!

But the bigger problem is SMS. I used this a LOT with the T3, both to send and receive, but while the TX will connect to the phone (SonyE T630) to send texts or dial, it won't pull messages off it. It goes through the "Connecting - Checking - Disconnecting" cycle, but the Connecting bit is impossibly short, and then it lies to me, saying there's no new messages. If I try with the T3, it works fine and pulls over the new messages.

I've tried it with both the Universal phone driver and the T610 driver, but both give the same result. Any ideas, please??
 
I managed to fix the SMS problem, but only by hard-resetting the TX and then deleting my PC /backup directory and reinstalling from scratch, instead of letting HotSync reinstall all my old T3 stuff automatically. So presumably it was a conflict with something or other.

As for the Organizer issue, I side-stepped that one by deleting the TX version of HotSync and reverting to the T3 version. I reinstalled Lotus EasySync on top of that and, apart from an initial error message in the HotSync log, all was well. Thanks to some memory-joggers in another thread here, I've now got the TX syncing to Organizer over the wireless LAN, as well.
