Palm Tungsten T3 switches to landscape view when it closes, in error

Hello,

I'd really appreciate any help. The screen on my Palm Tungsten T3 switches to a landscape view every time I close the slider to shut the unit off. I've changed the power on/off when shut settings, replaced the screen protector in the event that was simply hitting the landscape button, and performed soft resets.

Has anyone ever experienced this before? If so, I'd appreciate any insights on how to fix it.

OK...I've just changed the screen protector yet again and it's changing to landscape far less frequently upon opening and closing--- it must be something physical, such as a piece of film or debris causing the button to enact. I'll give it a good cleaning attempt. Don't know if this has ever happened to anyone else. A missing screw may be part of the trouble.
