Palm T|T Drift

I can't seem to solve this huge problem with drift on my T|T. I bought it used, it went through a washing machine, but it works. The touchscreen has really bad drift. I've tried taking it apart and cleaning the ribbon cables, that did not help at all. DigiFix and other similar apps do not help. There also seems to be dust under the digitizer, should I try to clean that?

PowerDiGi seems pretty interesting, yet it forced me to perform a hard reset. I am looking for a free solution though.

Sometimes my digitizer does not respond at all, I need hit it to get it to work.

Any suggestions?

This is an extremely common problem sometimes traced to a secondary program that's been added. You might try deleting all but the core applications and see if that fixes it.

But since the T and T2 had this problem - it was most often fixed by replacement...which is of course no longer an option. It may be time (actually it is) to replace it. That device is now at least 4 years old and over due, IMHO.

Actually, last night I did a hard reset, and installed the update only (along with FlyZip's Stability Test and Mulg). I tested the accuracy using Notepad, last night - right on. This morning - right on. That seems aweful strang. It seems to be working fine now.

I will see if I can pick up a cheap digitizer. I know of Gethightech, but I was looking for a place that might be cheaper, I'll check around eBay.

When they release the new version of PowerDiGi, I'll demo that to see how it is.
