Palm Portable Keyboard

How do I use the Palm Portable Keyboard with the T3 (not T5 as posted earlier)? When I open the keyboard application to set the preferences I can tick Enable Key Clicks, but when I tick Enable keyboard I get the error message "util.c, Line:1023, No serial library". A reset is then required.

Thanks for any help.

Rings a LOUD bell. But I really can't remember why :(

First off, get the latest keyboard driver. There's been loads of fun with dodgy keyboard drivers over the years. Do a soft reset, then go straight and try and enable it. If you still get the error, do a warm reset and then try enabling it. (Warm reset, by holding in the "up" on the d-pad while doing a soft reset.
I'm guessing it will work after the warm reset at least:-
If it does, then you have something running in the background conflicting.
If it doesn't, then you have some bit of software missing off your Palm that you need....
Do a normal soft reset to get out of the warm reset mode. You don't want to use your Palm generally in warm reset mode (many things won't work)....
Let me know the results then we'll try and get to the bottom of this.

Palm has identified an issue with the Palm? Keyboard driver. This is version available and required to use the Palm? Portable Keyboard or Ultra-Thin Keyboard with the Tungsten? T3 handheld.

If you have installed the keyboard driver, and your Macintosh OS X system will not synchronize, try the following procedure on the handheld:

1. Tap Launcher (silkscreen button with the home icon)
2. Tap Keyboard from the list of available applications
3. Tap to uncheck the box next to Enable Driver (disabling the driver)
4. Perform a Soft Reset (See the Knowledge Library article titled: "Information on how to reset a Palm? handheld" if you don't know how perform a soft reset)
5. Place your handheld on the cradle and press the HotSync? button to perform a HotSync operation.

This procedure needs to be performed prior to a HotSync operation if the Keyboard driver has been re-enabled.
