Palm new releases?

I am interested in buying a TX but since it is an older model i was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on waiting a few months to see if palm comes out with a new product (or an improvement for that matter). I am a med student so i don't really have the money to throw around on something that is going to be outdated
 
In the past March has been the month that Palm would release anything new. It's doubtful that anything other than a Treo will make it since PDA sales are extremely soft.

Jeff Hawkins is said to be working on a new product that will create a new level of device. There has been some speculation about it but nothing substantial as to what it will have or be.

If you can wait - do so. If you can't then a TX would be a good choice. The typical indicator if Palm is going to come out with something on a relative short term is that they drop the price of a device about 30 days out before annoucement - this to clear inventory. If you see a price drop at Palm on the TX in the next few weeks then it's a good bet something is coming. Don't pay attention to the etailers or retailers price drops - that's normal ebb and flow. It's Palm that triggers a true inventory reduction.


EDIT: Just noticed this from PIC about price reductions at Circuit City - see article here. The discounts are in the form of rebates so I would lend too much hope to anything new soon.
