Ken, I'm not sure what you mean. I did not reinstall form the "stock disk;" I took the 4.1.4 download and installed.
I noticed that Palm used to go:
1. C/PALM
2. C/Programs/Palm
3. (now) C/Pprograms/palmone
I would (if you haven't already) burn a CD of your archive and backup folders which I do 3x/week.
Open Palm desktop and set the old PIMS to "do nothing," and the new ones (contacts, memos, tasks, calendar) to HANDHELD OVERWRITES.
Hotsync and you'll generate a new backup folder, which will be a different "path" due to the palmone directory being created.
Bring in information accordingly from the Archive and Backup folders (old). You may have to reinstall conduits (as I am doing now) for Text Sync, MobileDB, TinySheet, etc - put "pointing at your data" will then be fine. I was quite amazed how quickly it's all gone, including the potential "nightmare" of TinySheet and Bonsai.
I take it you installed and nothing happened? Have you hotsynced "1st time" yet? I (and I believe you too) use the JackFlash thing, and if you haven't TAKEN OUT ALL APPS MOVED TO FLASH from the Backup directory, it will reinstall them to RAM and you'll have two copies. I can't stress enough that when an app is moved to flash it really should NOT be in the backup folder any more - move it to archive manually.
Email me if you have any other clarifications - and you might PM Mooseman, the "conduit king" - he can launch stuff from Vandenburg.
