palm centro doesnt work?

i have a sprint palm centro, the screen says hotsync connecting to cradle but my phone isn't being connected to the computer. and it wont let me leave the screen get calls or call out send or receive texts. please help!
i dont know how to reset it either when i turn it on it juss goes straight to that screen
