Palm Alternatives

I have been a long time Palm devotee going through the Palm III, m130 and now my trusty Z22. The announcement that Palm will no longer make non phone pdas has put my happy existence in question. I do not need a combined cell phone/pda with the monthly data fees.

I was wondering how fellow pda users will be facing this issue. It looks like the ipod Touch could be a contender down the road (since I am a Mac user) but it does not match the current Palm OS. My needs are basic: to do, schedule and address book.

Thanks,

Tom

You do not need a dtta plan to use a SmartPhone, My old Nokia 7610 does the three things you mention very well. Only thing I miss from the Palm world os the global search to look for info across all PIM databases.

For global search on your smartphone, have a look at T9nav (t9nav.com). It needs Symbian S60 v3 so won't run on a 7610, but is fine on things like the Nokia 6220, N71 or E65.

I have a treo with no daat plan. The TX is available used and has been great so far as it can pick up wifi. Is there a way to use wifi with a treo from verizon?
