Painting! Need ideas please!?

I'm doing a painting on board. My theme is 'faces of bad spirits'. I'm doing it through abstract and semi-cubism style based on multi-colours. I decided to put 3 or 4 faces. Behind the faces, there will be a gothic cross which will be visible only the upper and lower sides. On the upper side of the board, I mean over the faces, there will be dark sky including a full moon with bats. However, on the lower side of the board, I mean below the faces, I don't know what to put! I thought of abstract flames or tombs but don't know! Can you help what can I include?

sounds like you've got a lot going on already. the beautiful thing about painting is you don't need a plan. if you have a plan you can change plans mid-stream. i think if you start sketching you will have ideas emerge (on your own). and do more than just one sketch if you get blocked (or use your eraser.) If you need a break from sketching take a walk or something and try to be inspired from real life. that will bring life to your work. go walk in a cemetery; there are plenty of objects and moods there you can add to your work. To get frustrated before you start, takes all the fun out of an art project. Cubism and abstract sorta omits the need for a sky, ground, moonlight and all the other 'realistic' things you talk about adding. for paintings research pablo picasso, meaning check out a book from the library, take it home and get inspired!!!!!!!!!!!
