- OK, here we go. In the most basic form of paintball (woodsball), the objective is to eliminate the other team by marking them with paint. Some people use the one hit, your out rule. While others play "vitals", 1 mass or head shot or 2 anything else shot. When making teams people should choose 2 captains and then allow them to choose players back and forth like you would in basketball or another sport. The team should then get ready and wait for the other team to say they are ready too, and then the game begins. While in the game, it is wise to stay with other players in groups if you are inexperienced. If you feel comfortable with your skills, you could choose to flank the opposing team, but this is difficult. Your team should all trust each other and listen to everyone, also being able to communicate without making noise (hand signals) would be a good idea. When you spot an enemy that is unaware of you, you should get into a position that you think they will walk past. Allow them to come to you, and NOT the other way around. When you are ABSOLUTELY sure you have the shot, all fire at once. The other team should be confused and disorientated, so you should fair well. If you get spotted before you can ambush them, get into a good position and bunker down. Lay suppressing fire for your team mates and slowly move up. Take your time and wait for the right opportunity. If you happen to be surprised by an attack, quickly asses where the shots are coming from and find cover. Once in cover, shot back even if you cannot see the other team. This will give the illusion that you are aware of the other team, and they will try to find cover as well. Well thats the basics of gameplay. Also, don't play in too big of an area, and don't have very very long games. It can draw on and will not be as much fun. Me and my team are playing this weekend and I'll attach a copy of our playing schedule so you can see what games we play. They are a bit advanced games, but they are EXTREMELY fun if you can get them down. But first, onto guns. If you are a new player, I would suggest the Tippmann 98 Custom Kit. It comes with a marker, mask, small tank, and hopper, everything you need to start playing. If you have a bit of extra cash, than I would go for the Tippmann A5. It's a bit better than the 98 and more customizable. If you wanna go all out (and have a bunch of $), than go for the Tippmann X7. Hundreds of customization options and AMAZING performance. But Tippmann is the absolute best woodsball gun you can get anyway, so you'll be set anyway you go. If you want a realistic gun (clip fed), you could always go to RAP4.com, but they are pretty expensive. Well thats about it that I can write, so here's our game plan...Paintball Schedual-2/15/09Game 1: •Game Type- Team Elimination•Time Limit- 30 minutes•Team Ratio- 1:1•Game Rules- oSingle life (1 mass shot or 2 other to get out)oSet boundaries (Medium/Big area)oTeams will use colored arm bands to distinguish teamsoIf an entire team isn’t eliminated by the end of the 30 minutes, then the team with the most players winsGame 2: •Game Type- Medic•Time Limit- 45 minutes•Team Ratio- 1:1•Game Rules- oOne medic that can heal any other player that is down by touching themoSet boundaries (Medium/Big area)oMedic must be clearly identified by something on his bodyoIf shot (anyone but medic), you must sit down and wait for medic to help you.
