Paint problems - White 848/1198

this is true i don't for that reason. i was mostly joking around.

however the 3 bikes i took for a test ride had problems. 1098's/Tri every second light almost. 1098 base being the best with only one stall, which the owner tried to cover up saying it sometimes happens " no big deal" i asked him "what if i was in a sharp turn" ...he shruged.
 
I agree with this, my friend works at a paint shop so i was aware of the difficulty in matching that particular colour. Even when he painted his front bumper on the VW it wasn't exact but still very very close where only he could really tell. Just saying i personally wouldn't be happy... seemed a little too much off in my eyes. i guess i expect too much. i'm a total perfectionist with my bikes/cars so it really bothers me. didn't mean to offend anyone.

Would it bother you/have you had the issue on your bike?
 
+1 This is a new thing with Ducati and from what I've heard around it's because they just can't cope with the volume.

But, having said that, paying a premium on these bikes should reflect a premium bike.

My 2009 848 matched up perfectly. As for the stalling issue. One thing I've always said here is that you get guys posting how their bike stalls and runs like crap. Then you see that they bought the bike with 0 miles on it.

Really?

So, there was no setup, even worse if they paid for it. My 2010 has a full termi put on and when I went to pay for it, the tach read 40 miles, y'know what? I'm happy, means they checked that thing 8 ways from Sunday to make sure everything was working and running properly.
 
I couldn't agree more! you just nailed it.
Also, is a perfect bike too much to ask for, really? one that runs without virtually any issues and looks the part of an elite superbike? most people that look at a Ducati expect just that. I for one won't except good enough..and shouldn't spend my time/money and worry about fixing what's been ignored. or making excuses as to why the paint doesn't match up when someone points it out. The volume theory is making most sense but doesn't make it ok.

It's great they set up ur bike right with the Termi's i'd expect nothing less. Good on those of you with Zero issues. I really feel for those dealing with b.s though . Rant over
