Hi, a year ago I used a paint on a replica of mine, did a complete repaint (head, hand, boots etc) and it dried up real fast and good, not sticky, within a few hours. A year later, got another replica that I decided to do a slight repaint on (just the boots) and am having some problems. I repainted my replicas boots nearly 48 hours ago and they still have a sticky feeling to them!
Did I do something different this time around or is there something wrong with the paint that I used? The paints I used were enamal (Testors), 1 was 1144 Gold and the other was 1147 Gl Black, they are about a year old (lid was on them, shook them about 5-6 times before opening and applying). Will the paint dry? I'm worried it might never dry - my replica is in my bedroom, on his back because on 1 boot I repainted the bottum and even it is still sticky! The room is kinda warm, no fan on or anything.
I am going to add that although the paint on the boots is sticky, it doesn't rub off, I have placed my finger on the boots a few times and the paint has not come off, the paint has a sticky feeling to it though. I am unsure of how many coats I added although I think I painted the boots twice.
