In a nutshell, 2 days ago (Thursday) I was playing football for my six a side team (I'm a goalkeeper) and after going in for a 50/50 ball with an opposing player, I opted to punch the ball but inadvertently caught the back of the guys head.
Ever since then my hand has been impossibly sore with a hard lump to the far right of the back of my hand, but the pain only goes from from my little finger knuckle down to half way down my hand.
Its only painful when pressing the swollen area on the back of my hand, the reverse side on my palm and when pressing the tip of my little finger.
I can function the hand fine in terms of writing (its my right hand) and there is no bruising, but just the one area is painful. That said, it is VERY painful even to put gloves on or to turn on the light with my little finger.
Is this me just being dramatic and its actually just a nasty sprain, or is there a possibility it could be a fracture? I've only left it this long without seeing a doctor because I've had arm fractures before and have witnessed the almost immediate, drastic bruising that comes from a break, and as yet no bruising in the slightest has appeared.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
