I hope someone can help me. I have a really weird sensation in my throat. I started to suddenly feel like I ad something stuck in my throat and then I started to feel pain when I swallowed, the kind of pain you feel when you have a really bad case os sore throat, but is just on the right side of my throat. What could it be?

Hi, First, I'm sorry you're awake at 4am, I hope it's not the pain keeping you up.:( Unfortunately, my pain isn't well controlled at the moment, so that's the reason I'm up all night...Anyway, as for your throat pain & difficulty swallowing, you MUST see your MD, ASAP. It may be serious, but it might be something as simple as an oral ulcer in your throat. Of course, you won't know until you see your doc. I would go to my pcp & ask for a ref to an ENT doc.

Please don't worry, but go to your doc ASAP...My friend had heartburn & trouble swallowing for a few months & he finally went to a GI to get an endoscope and sadly, he wound up having esophegeal cancer...He didn't even smoke amd he's only 40, so any trouble swallowing can be serious.

Good luck & I hope I didn't scare you by telling about my friend, but I want you to know how potentially serious this can be.
