Hey spineys, how do i get it through these Dr.s head that my foot does not want to work, how do i make them listen? I am getting worse and i have decreased my movement to next to nothing but days like yesterday i had to push to do some laundry hubbys been sick and kiRAB do what they are capable. I know this is something to do with area L5 with Sciatic as i looked at the charts and can pinpoint exactly where i am hurting and even the Dr.s say it is a nerve thing and who knows how long it will talk to see the other specialist at the university per Dr. as they are slow always have been, soory to vent but it is agony and when i'm this bad i can only do something to try to get my mind off of it ugh. It come from my lower back into my hip down my left into my foot/big toes and that being the worst. I go to the Dr.s today but i know thier not going to be able to do anything and or my arthritis Dr. and i can'y even get the Neuros office to call me back since i had the MRI:mad:
Love, monkey

Monkey, my heart and prayers go out to you! I pray that you found answers today and pray that the neurosurgeon's office will call you back...How are you feeling this evening? I will continue to pray for you and your family...Love, Tam

Tam, thanks for the post. Actually it's the next day and i am feeling some bit better although i had some really sharp pins in needle feeling inmy toe today but i just take it one day at a time and try to think of all the pluses! I went to the Dr.s and she is referring me to get another EMG due to whats going on and she started me on Neurotin for nerve relief, but never told me if i am supposed to take my other pain meRAB plus that and when i did i couldn't even function and i would rather be able to somewhat function because i have kiRAB that need me so i am gonna have to call on Monday and see whats up about that. Take care, Melissa

Hi Melissa. Sorry to hear things arent much better. The Neurontin is "usually" not a replacment for your pain meRAB, but to be taken in conjunction with your pain meRAB. Expect the Neurontin to make you very tired and loopy for a few weeks and watch for any serious side effects. You have to let the Neurontin build up in your system in order to see how much it will help you. Of the dose has to be adjusted to get you where you need to be, if it helps you at all.

Im allergic to the stuff so I can't take it or other nerve meRAB. So I have to tough out the nerve pain on my own.

The others that can take it or have should chime in there and give you some input on it.

If you can tolerate the med.. and it helps you.. take it. It may even be a ticket to lowering your pain meRAB if you respond positively enough to it.

Hang in there. :)
