Pain on palm under thumb?

I hit my hand on my counter and the palm of my hand right below my thumb hurts. I dont think its swollen, but I can't stretch my hand out without it hurting. I put ice on it and took some advil. Does anyone think I hurt it bad enough to go to the hospital? I know the top of my thumb does not hurt so i dont think i broke it. I'm just stuck at home alone without a car. Thanks
