Pain much worse after ESI

Has anyone ended up with permanently increased pain after an ESI? my pain increased a lot and a completely new pain started down the front of my thigh, at first I was told it was normal nerve root irritation, but now a full year later I still have the increased pain and the new one. My PM doc has no explanation but wants to do more injections. I'm seriously thinking about changing to another PM doc

I have never had an ESI but from reading these forums it seems to happen quite a bit with no one really having much of an idea why some seem to think that the injection may not quite have been in the right place.
