Pain in pelvic region right side

Right now it is a very slight annoyance which almost makes me want to cancel my appointment with the doc. However, I know it will be back. Many years ago I had a sharp pain in my left side. Dr back then said it was a cyst and would go away. It didn't. The pain got so bad I couldn't stand up straight and because I didn't eat I was really thin. It showed up on an ultrasound as solid but about the size of a golf ball so they thought it might be cancer. It turned out to be a dermoid cyst the size of an orange. No wonder I hurt. Whatever is going on now hasn't shown up anywhere and I don't see the point of having anymore cat scans or ultra sounds. Maybe it is something that happens to us lefty's?

I hear ya...Mine is located where nothing is even supposed to be. It can be enough to double me up, when it happens. Have you looked up "pelvic adhesions"? After reading about that, I felt pretty sure this was my problem, and my doc does too.

If I weren't a high risk patient, this could have been resolved by now. I feel for you...I have been at this for well over a year already.

Ah, a fellow lefty! I like that... :jester:

I went to the dr this afternoon. He said my pain was exactly where the appendix are located. He ordered a white blood count test stat. It came back normal. He is referring me back to the GI doctor I saw before (sigh) I have Kaiser insurance. He said if I develop a fever, throw up, have chills go to the ER. When I got home I called my girlfriend whose hubby is a highly respected GI dr. He said usually white blood count goes up but not always. So, it goes on and on. Personally, I am thinking there is something going on with the appendix, but hey, what do I know?

I went through the whole appendix thing too...way before either the GI or OB/GYN. Actually layed on a gurney in the hallway of the overcrowded ER for 6 hours before they ruled that out. What a trip!
