Pain in pelvic region right side

Hi...this is my first thread so I hope I am sending it to the right place...I have been having pain in my lower right side for about 5 months now...It is sometimes burning, sometimes stinging, and at times it is a stabbing pain...It's hard to describe...I am not big on going to doctors, very few in my 62 years...(I have always been quite healthy) but after the pain began, I did go have an ultrasound and a vaginal exam, a blood test for ovarian cancer, and also an MRI on my pelvic region...all the tests came back ok...but the pain is still there everyday...sometimes not as bad as other times....and some days all day long and pretty intense...I know something is wrong, because pain is not normal all the time...The doctor suggested I go have a colon test but I have not done that yet...For some reason I don't feel like it is my colon as everything is normal in bowel movements etc....I do go urinate a lot and for the last 25 years, there has been some red blood cells in my urine but I can't see it...only the doctor does....but anyway, I am making this too long...I am wondering if anyone has had this kind of pain for this long and what did you do about it??? My doctor could not feel any lumps or anything and my ovaries looked fine on the tests that were done...any suggestions from anyone would be helpful...thank you for reading

I sure can relate but have no answers. I have been going through this for several years. In fact my dr sent me to the ER last night but that was a waste of time 5 long hours a normal blood test and sent home. I have had numerous cat scans and ultrasounds. (cant have MRI) Drs try to blame IBS or fibromyalgia but this is a deep hot poker feeling in the same spot. I am starting to think it could be a chronic appendicitis. I am going to my primary dr tomorrow. I am actually hoping for a lapiscopic surgery. This is agony. Usually it goes away but not this time.

Me too, with no final answer either. I went through the entire gastro route, endoscopy/colonoscopy, IBS medication, sonograms, MRI's, you name it-with no relief.

Next, I was referred to an OB/GYN, where I had every test, and was scheduled for a D&C, exploratory Laparoscopy, looking for adhesions, and/or Endimetriosis. The surgery was supposed to happen last Monday, but was canceled 5 minutes before it was supposed to start, because my BP shot up too high, and my kidney function was too low. My OB/GYN suggested I learn to live with it!

My pain comes and goes, but usually lasts 3-6 hours, typically in the middle of the night. I never know when it will strike, or if it will return.

I understand what you are going through, all I can do is encourage you to keep after it, until you figure it out. I wish you well...

Is your pain always in the same spot? I actually slept last night. I had a banana this morning. Usually I am the first to get to the food trough but I am not really wanting to eat. WHAT? Some people eat to live, since menopause I live to eat. My dr wouldn't do an ERCP test saying it could cause pancreanitis. I had a colonoscopy and endoscomy (geez I can't spell) 5 years ago. Except for a hiatal hernia and gerd I was fine.
Very frustrating indeed.

Hi Mel,

Yes my pain is in the same spot every time. In fact, I have it right now! Ugh...I'm not going to bother calling my doctor, unless the pain gets unbearable, and I will then hit the ER for pain relief. What the heck is this? It has driven me about crazy. :dizzy:

Oh, I did have a ruptured ectopic pregnancy in 2003, and my right ovary and tube were removed. That is why my doctor was going in, to check for adhesions, or scar tissue that can cause pelvic pain. It feels like the pain comes from the exact spot that my ovary used to be...
