Hello Everyone,
This is a first post so just wanted to say hello first and get all that good stuff out of the way. So hi!
Here is the issue I am having. About 4 weeks ago I had a night of drinking (probably more than I should have) and woke up the next afternoon with a very sharp pain in my lower right side right below my rib cage. This pain was very strong and would radiate up to my right shoulder. I figured that I pulled something so I just let it go and in about 4 days it went away. About 2 weeks after this I decided to go out with friends again and the same thing happened. Severe pain in my right side right below rib cage. This time however it was enough to really scare me. (Granted I have decided to give up drinking since this happened a couple of weeks ago.) At this time I decided to go to the ER where they did x rays and stated that I had an inflamed intestine and slight fluid inside. They stated it was probably viral and should go away. They sent me off with pain meds.
About 2 days after this I woke up and was unable to even move from all of the pain. I went to my family Dr. who ran blood tests and sent me back up to ER to have CT scans done with contrast. After running this they told me the same thing, that it just looked like an inflamed intestine and it should pass. After about 2 more days my pain was to the point of not even being able to stand up, tie my shoes...nothing. I was then set up to have a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. With the endoscopy they found deterioration of my stomach and esophagus which they put me on omeprazole for. Nothing was found with the colonoscopy. After this was done, I have had just very light pain and am not seeing any consistency with the pain like I was before. I now have moderate pain in the same area. I have had diarrhea as well as some bloody stools during this whole thing. I get very upset stomach whenever I eat as well.
My doctor is now saying they want to do full blood workups tomorrow before they send me to surgeon to have exploratory surgery done. I have no idea what to think...and I am just looking for someone that has maybe run into these same issues! Thank you so much for taking the time!
