I also have pain in my lower legs. I don't know what is causing it. I am a bartender on my feet several hours of the day. I've been doing it for 10 yrs not. I thought that that was the problem. I changed my shoes put insuls in, nothing helps. I even took two weeks off and the pain seemed to be worse toward the end of that period. I was in a car crash when I was 12 and had back problems since. I had a MRI done and from what little I remember there was nothing wrong. I do remember though, I couldn't play sports after that because I had shooting pains in my back and down my legs. I still have the shooting pain in my hips but that is very seldom and quick. The calf muscle pains are constant and are destroying my life. I do not have insurance, Im 29, and I do not know another job I can do without being on my feet. I have decided to go to the doctor tomorrow because I cannot live with the pain anymore. I have a feeling this one visit isnt going to solve the problem. The pain is so intense that some nights I feel like im coming down with the flu or something. I have a family history of Diabetes and heart problems. Most of the stuff I have been reading on the web point to this but Im trying not to let it convince me of the problem. Im sorry that I can only share my trouble with you, and hope that you find a solution

I would advise that you stop taking the statin. The pain in your calf will probably spread and sometimes the damage can be permanent. Start taking COQ10, at least 200mg. Do some research on the damaging side effects of statins and how doctors are ignoring their patients complaints. Some doctors either don't have the time or don't care enough to research these drugs and just believe what the pharma reps tell them. Be your own advocate, it's your body! Take care.:)

I developed tendinitis in my right arm out of nowhere- no change in exercise, no change in work (heavy computer use). Sometimes it was so bad I couldn't eat with my right arm because it hurt too much to bring my arm up to my mouth. As I puzzled over it (and wondered if it was just the aging process), my left arm started to develop the same problem. Then I realized it had started up around 6 months ago- same time I'd started taking Pravastat. I did a Google search and realized there was a likely connection.

I quit taking the darn things. That was early April; my arm gradually improved about 95%. I suspect the remaining damage is permanent, but I'll live with it. I get twinges only after very heavy activity.

When I finally got around to telling my doc, he suggested green tea capsules and another herbal supplement. I watch my fat intake very carefully and live an otherwise very healthy life- next week I'm attempting a race which is a 1000 meter swim, 9 miles on the bike and a 2.4 mile walk/run- and I'm 56.

But I'm through with statins. I'm fully convinced that if I were still taking them, this race would be out of the question.
