For four months I have a weird condition. After sitting down on soft comfortable chair pain develops in my left leg and spreads down and it become acute pain until I stand up or walk. My pain tolerance is way below the average person. During sleep the pain starts and increases despite any sleeping aid or pain killer till it wakes me up. Standing for some time gradually decreases the pain.

I visited several doctors, I had x-rays, MRI, Physical Therapy, Acupuncture, etc. nothing helped.

Thanks

aymaleh: this sounds like something I've recently developed too. It's the sciatica nerve that runs down the back of your leg. You've had an MRI - what part of the body did they scan? Was it the lower back? A friend of mine started with this over a year ago and finally ended up having her back operated on because the discs were pressing on the nerve - the sciatica nerve. She said she lost all feeling in her foot before she had the surgery. Some nurses have told me to just put heat on the area and try to stretch the leg. Sometimes chiropractors can help with this but you have to be careful that they don't make matters worse.

The pain that I'm feeling feels like something is biting me or like my skin is being stabbed or stretched. I noticed it last week after I had a shot/needle I had to have. I also was doing yoga and I wonder if I pulled something the wrong way.

Talk to your doctors about the sciatica and research it so you know what you're talking about before you talk to them. Good luck
