Pain after EMG for hands and arms?

hi, I'm 20 and had an EMG done today.
I'm pretty strong-emotionally and physically- for a girl. i worked in construction lifting 80plus pound objects at the age of 14 and didnt stop until age 18. Since then I've worked in a farming store and although im cashiering, i can lift a bag of 50lb sweet feed(for horses) with one arm to turn it around to be able to scan it.
^a bit of background just saying im a strong person.

Anyways, today I had my EMG and they found that I have carpal tunnel pretty badly. I actually cried when they put the needle into the muscle on the palm side of my hand. and I really never do that. The reason I'm writing is because my numbness and tingling is worse today. I also feel very weak in both of my arms now as well as some achey pain. I was wondering if this is normal or happens every now and then.
Anyways, thanks for your help :]
