Paid my "photo-cop" ticket

Having spent my entire life on the front range of Colorado near Boulder the OP had me laughing my ass off with this one. We refer to that beloved City as the peoples republic of Boulder for a reason. It wasn't to long ago that Boulder tried passing an ordinance to photo every vehicle passing throuugh town and anyone that was not a tax paying resident of the city would receive a bill in the mail for using their roads. I actually rode through Boulder yesterday and remembered to "smile cause you're on candid camera".

The fine print of the ticket probably said don't send cash, check or money order only. He likey has warrants in Boulder as a result. He will probably show up on a future episode of "locked up abroad".

Hah! Welcome to my world..

Here in the UK we've had red light cameras for the last decade on many intersections, and guess what? It saves accidents.

We've also got used to static speed cameras too, although the new Government coalition is trying to score points by turning some off, much to the angst of safety campaigners.

We've also got intersection cameras that do both - go through on red & they getcha, go through over the speed limit on green & they getcha.

Add in the Automatic Number Plate Reader cameras (ANPR) and that little piece of metal or plastic suddenly becomes more than a simple fashion accessory..

And they don't take coinage, either!

I've always thought those traffic enforcing cameras were fascist. They remind me of the move "Demolition Man" where they have little machines on the wall that automatically fine you everytime you curse. Same crap.

Some places don't take cash and it is not legal to send cash in the mail, but I still think it is all funny. Please let us know how it works.

I would have paid the fine in a conventional manner and went on about my business.... BUT isn't it against some sort of law to send money via the US Postal Service?
