Around here the company representatives reviews the video of you running the red light, they determine which ones did and didn't run the light. They then turn the video over to an LEO to look at, if he agrees, he then send the ticket. So if you challenge the ticket he will be the one showing up. In this county it is an ordinance violation not a criminal citation.

Paying with Pennies is funny, but i wouldn't do it. Not all jurisdictions have a red light camera ticket as an ordinance violation. I wouldn't risk it. I really wouldn't risk not paying it at all like someone suggested. Thats a good way to get your license suspended or revoked. States do talk to each other when it comes to driver's licenses.

Photos are not hearsay...Court Rejects Use of Hearsay in Red Light Camera Case

...Khaled received a citation from Santa Ana police in August 2008. At trial, the prosecution sought to admit photographs that allegedly showed the defendant running a red light.
The defense objected on the ground that the photographs, which had certain information entered on them, such as the time and date they were taken, were inadmissible hearsay. Orange Superior Court Commissioner Daniel Ornelas disagreed, admitted the photos and a supporting declaration, and found the defendant guilty....

You don't have a right to confront your witnesses, you have a right to confront your accuser.

In my area the ticket is charge to the vehicle plate owner. Not the driver per say. You are responsible for the vehicle if you are the plate owner. They assume even if it was not you driving, after enough tickets you will stop whoever is drive it from driving it if they are running red lights. Cameras like a lot of areas are managed by a subcontracted company.

My dad is my best friend, and I'm glad he didn't get killed. I have no idea why you would post something like this? My original post was meant to make people smile. I never thought it would morph into someone wishing death on my family because I sent some pennies.

Grow up.

Shoot the yellow, your Dad runs the red, putting his life in danger, now your dad is pissed, you are pissed listening to your dad, you subject your dad to a arrest warrant, because you are pissed you broke the law and pull a childish stunt with pennies.

I think we ought to give you some wine to go with your cheese.

I just picked up a 100 dollar speeding ticket yesterday for doing 84 in a 75. Don't kid yourself. The speed limit is the limit. Try doing 29 in a school zone when there's a radar officer there. I don't think you'd get a ticket for 2 or 3 over, but you could.

Personally, I would never, ever wish that someone would be injured or killed for running a red light.

On the other hand, you and your whiney dad might do some growing up yourselves.

JMO.

If your property taxes just doubled because your county decided to squander money on big pork belly projects I could understand and give you a hoo ray!

Dad knows the rules and was in control of his bike. I would have paid the fine and been done with it. (if I was Dad)
