I've had the check engine light on in my car for a little over a week now. The light came on when my husband was trying to tow our riding mower out of a ditch. He was in 4L and was spinning the wheels and revving at a very high RPM as the temperature gage red lined. Got the mower out and turned the Jeep off to let it cool down. Temperature went back to normal - no other problems this week expect the light being on. Had the code read today - P0300, P0301, P0303, and P0305 - engine misfire error codes, basically. Had the codes reset and drove 40 minutes home without the light coming back on. Was this likely a one time engine problem or did my husband do some damage to the engine? Should this car be taken on a long trip as we have planned for this weekend?
