Oxidation

Does anyone else have oxidation taking place on their rear shock? I dont even keep it outside and its on there. Mine is getting thick and ugly. It is on the threaded ring that is adjustable to change the characteristics of the shock. (Not sure what its technically called). Is there any way to get this off or would it be easier to just buy a new showa shock?

Would it make sense to upgrade to an Ohlins in the rear? I would still have the showas up front...

Aluminum Deoxidizer from California Customs (google and it will come up) followed with Purple metal polish from the same place ..... or autosol. Both require alot of elbow grease.

BUT, my experiance with oxidation is once it appears, you can nver truly "rub" it off with polish.
