Owner of Car in KS. I want to switch the title of the car under my name.?

Hi I recently got my car stolen in CA so my uncle let me borrowed his car from KS. He later lets me have his car, but the title of the car is under his name and he is already in KS along with the title. What do I do to switch the title of the car from his name to my name and does he need to be in CA to do so? I was going to ask him to send the title over later, but I want to make sure.
