own two cars but one is garage kept?

i own a 2002 lancer and am thinking about gettin a 1997-98 eclipse... im just goin to buy the car im not goin to drive it.. and the eclipse is goin to be garage kept for modifications... do i have to have insurence on the eclipse even though im not goin to be driving it at all until its all done?
