Own sceicento sporting which when cold has a knock from front shock. If you put your finger on the top of the piston pin as it comes through the top strut mounting and bounce the car up and down a distinctive knock can be felt and heard.
When the car has been driven some distance it stops.
I can easily change both front shocks (its only spring compressors and 4 bolts)
but it bugs me that it defies description as to what causes it and can it be fixed without changing the shocks
It is definately the shock that's the problem nothing else is loose or needs tightening up
there is a suggestion that the fluid in the shock aireates and fills an "air gap" inside the shock
any suggestions
