oversleeping

I sleep 10-12 hours a night. I can even come home and take a nap after that. When I wake up, it's still hard for me to get up after that amount of sleep. If I get 6 or 7 or less, I feel terrible. I know 8-9 is normal, but 12? Is there something wrong with me? I am taking new meds and that might make it a bit worse but I've always slept more than anyone I know and everyone keeps telling me it's unhealthy.. I'm also just sick of it, I feel like I have no time to get anything done.

Oh, and I'm not depressed either. What could it be?

The amount of sleep you need varies significantly over the course of your lifetime. It depends on your age and activity level as well as your general health and lifestyle habits. For instance, during periods of stress or illness, you may feel an increased need for sleep. But although sleep needs differ over time and from person to person, experts typically recommend that adults should sleep between seven and nine hours each night.
