After 25 miles of highway driving the temperature very slowly made its way up to redline (I didn't let it overheat but it was heading that way).
I pulled the radiator and it looked clean. The coolant was nice and clean, too. I put a hose in one end and clear water came out the other - no rust or anything. I replaced the thermostat a few days ago, too.
I pulled the cover off the water pump and bumped the starter and could see that it was rotating.
The only possible problem I can see is that the fan isn't working but this wouldn't cause a problem on highway riding would it? The outside temperature was 72F, and I was doing about 65 mph (4700 rpm).
Also, most of the body work has been removed so I'm not getting optimum airflow through the radiator.
