The doctor put on the label to drink 5mL every 6 hours as needed, but my mom thought it was 30mL instead, like Nyquil. It's called promethazine-codeine syrup, and I want to know if this is going to harm me in anyway (yes I know overdosing is bad). I've had this syrup since Friday, so I've been taking it for 2 days, about 2 times throughout the day with the 30mL dosage. It says that taking it more than the recommended amount will give you breathing problems, and I've noticed that my cough hasn't died down, and my upper chest sometimes feels like there's a bit of pressure, like I've taken in too much air. Should I stop taking it for a bit or continue with the recommended amount?
