So my fan isn't turning on to cool down my car while the car is on. So if I'm in traffic and stopped for longer than I'd say 5 minutes, it will over heat. The fan will not turn on. So I turned my car on lifted the hood and waited to see when the fan turns on. Well the car went all the way to the red but the fan doesn't come on! as soon as I turned the car off, the fan turns on! At times when I pull up if the car is at the normal temperature I can hear the fan turn on once I turn the car off. If the temperature isn't to high the fan will not turn on when I turn it off. So I know the fan does work, it's just not turning on when needed while the car is on???? I have purchased I new radiator cap, a new thermostat, a new fan relay, two new hoses, and a flush. It's still not fixed. I was looking at Auto Zone and theres a part called the Cooling fan switch, it says, " Cooling fan switch closes the circuit to engage the cooling fan(s) when the optimum temperature is reached
When not replaced, cooling system fans will either remain continually "on" or not function causing the engine to overheat, internal engine damage and/or temperature light illumination
Designed to meet or exceed OE specifications in form, fit and function
Global coverage for import and/or domestic applications
Do you think this could be the answer? Thank you, I really need this fixed!
