Outdoor camera for recording wildlife?

We have alot of wildlife activity in our back garden and I would like to find a cheap way of recording it, however we get it mostly in the early hours of the morning so I would like to set something up so it will record it while we are sleeping and preferably something with a motion sensor so tht it only records when the wild animals are there. Please help me by finding a cheap way of recording this. Any hints or tips are also welcome
