Puppies cry, thats what they do. Any baby, animal or human, cries. Dont worry about it. And if you are that worried, take them to the vet. And while you are there, schedule them to be fixed. Its the law now anyway.

I would say that is a good thing as long as it is not constant 24/7 do you have the mom? How does she react to the crying? If she is not too concerned and has been taking care of them (not ignoring them) then I would not be concerned especially if it is all of them crying.

Newborn pups cry for 1 of 3 reasons, they are hungry, they are cold, or there is something wrong with them inside. You should be weighing them everyday to make sure they are getting enough to eat. A pup will gain weight everyday, if it doesn't, it isn't eatting enough. How much depends on the breed, but can be anywhere from half an ounce to several ounces, again depending on breed. Any pup that doesn't gain weight 2 days in a row is on the verge of being in trouble and you need to supplement the milk supply, talk to your vet about how, with what, how much, and how often.

Puppies need to be in a room that is at least 78 degrees, closer to 80 the better. If they get too cold, they will die.

If you are sure they are getting enough to eat, and are warm, it's time to take them to the vet, as they should not be crying and whining non-stop, only when they are looking for food, and then after finding it, should be quiet and happy again.

There are a few reasons why you could have discontented puppies -- are you weighing them 2x a day to check for weight gain or loss? They may not be getting enough nutrition from their dam.

How warm is the whelping box? Many times when puppies are too hot, they cry. When not nursing, do they pile on each other or are they all scattered around the box? If they're scattered, odds are very good it's too hot. Puppies do need to be kept warm (as they cannot regulate their own temps by panting as adults do) but too warm isn't good either.

Is mom getting them to eliminate? They might be uncomfortable because they need to poo-- and can't on their own. They must be stimulated to do both functions. It's pretty easy, just take a warm, moistened paper towel and gently wipe their anus and (in girls) vulva, (in boys) penile areas. Results (especially pee) are immediate...if pee is very dark, they are not getting enough hydration from mom and you will need to supplement them.

Worst case scenario? You have a whelping box of drama kings and queens <g> Nothing is wrong but they complain anyhow.

Good luck ...and let us know what happens

Did you adopt? Are they away from there mother? If so they should get over it. just give them love and care with stuffed animals. If not try putting them in a room ALONE with only there mother maybe if you have more dogs AND THEY A VERY VERY NICE TO THE PUPPIES then they can be in there to but check on them once or twice. Maybe they are just not used to the world.
