Other then it being discusting, why is conseual insest illegal?

Ok for the record I am in no way promoting inscest, nor do I think it is right, moral or anything like that. But if a brother and sister "fall in love" why is it looked down upon in society? And once again, I personally think its gross and wrong, but beside that why is it illegal?

haha on a side note when I went to post this question one of the categories it gave me was immigration... wth does this have to do with imigration?
Oh and for the record i'm not talking about a creepy uncle forcing a young niece or nephew to do things, i'm not talking about child abuse. I'm talking about two adults, that happen to fall in love, or think they are or whatever
 
It's illegal because of the implications for the potential child. If a child was to be born from a brother and sister, the child is more likely to suffer from birth defects and learning difficulties.
 
You seem to assume that incestuous sex between consenting adults is a crime everywhere in the world. It is not. In most of the u.s. there are laws about marriage, but not that prohibit sex between related consenting adults. Sex with children is a crime whether they are related or not.
