I've been "reassigned" to the callcentre. It's like a demotion back to two years ago which, although is not as harsh as loosing my job completely like some people have done, is still the fucking utter pits as there was no warning they were even moving the department. We were right in the middle of implementing new procedures and had projects right on the go which were being signed off on even up to last friday.

There is a chill wind blowing through the land at the moment. Our HR girls got the bum's rush the other week. Our rules state 6 months notice but they were offered a good deal to go immediately as somebody had found they had cash at year end (31st March) to use to reduce numbers. One of the women was in tears, she started with us 20 years ago as a youngster of just 18. The axe has fallen so often in the last couple of years I am rattling about in office that used to hold 5 people. I suspect it is a matter of time but my age and seniority make me expensive to get rid of :dry:

For the first time in years I have had a look around - applied for another job and have an interview but it is an all day job. Presentation, interview, group exercise (presumably where the candidates have to fight to the death), written exercise (for survivor). :( I think I may be too old and grumpy for this shit.
 
Still working. Trying to decide how much money I would have to be given before I get wheeled naked on a skateboard through the office being groped by the rest of the staff.
