him enough and I have to pay him? I was involved in a car accident a few months ago and I was at fault. At the time it seemed like a fairly small issue that my insurance company has taken care of but recently I received a letter from the other party saying that my insurance is not giving him an appropriate amount for the accident and acting as if it is my responsibility to give him 26 K for various things, some which are reasonable but many that are ridiculous and I know to be flat out incorrect but probably cannot be proven.
I am pretty sure I should just let my insurance company handle it all, but I was wondering if he has any sort of case that I should worry about, and if I need to contact my insurance company or anyone else about this.
I have been rear-ended before too so I sympathize with how annoying it can be dealing with insurance companies, but I am pretty sure he is full bulls*** and just upset that his car which still has 15 K of payments to be made on it is only worth 5 K, and my insurance won't pay him more than 5 K for that reason. He is claiming that he is injured (which I doubt because he spent a week snowboarding right after the accident and said nothing about being injured in any way), emotionally damaged (ridiculous), and his snowboard was destroyed from the accident (it was in the trunk, and I saw it after the accident it was fine, I snowboard too).
I am in California, and we are both residents here
