Here is my specs first off:

Core 2 6600
Gigabyte G965-DP3
2xWD HD Raptor 80GB (Raid 0)
evga 8800GTX
2GB Corsair 800mhz RAM

Alright, so I actually have installed vista before on my previous system. This system was running windows XP, I just did my yearly format and decided to upgrade to vista x64.

Prior to installing in updated the bios, xp booted fine, ran that for a few days. Then I formated and started to install vista. Vista asked for drivers for the Raid, I went to gigabytes website and downloaded the x64 and x32 Raid drivers (I tried to install both x64 of vista and later x86 of vista...both no go). After installing, when it does it's first restart and start to load the OS I get a quick blue screen which I can not read and it restarts the CPU.

I know there maybe many things wrong, but I do want to tell you I just purchased the 8800GTX 3 days ago it ran fine in XP. However, I do not know if it is the Vista Raid drivers that could be causing the problem and I was wondering if someone can give me some starting points. THANKS!!!

It'll run great. I have smilar specs and my system fly's.

edit:

It does seem like a raid issue. my 8800gtx works great in vista, actually I've yet to get a blue screen in about a month of using it.

I only got blue screens with hacked version of vista, legal one is stable as a rock.

I found the issue, I guess the actual raid drivers on Gigabytes website do not function correctly with Vista, I must download the pre-install drivers directly from jmicron. This driver actually works correctly with no problems.

Also, do you have 3D Mark 2006. If so can you tell me what your benchmark score seems to be in vista.
