The science center is nothing special. We live very close to it and
hardly ever even consider going there. The planetarium rocks,
especially the star show. The art museum is nice, went there last
Friday, but I've been to much better. The Arch is just kinda dumb.
You just take an elevator to the top, then it's no better view than
from the average skyscraper. The MO Botanical Garden is beautiful.
Everything is very inexpensive.

I disagree. Zachary (my son) and I used to love going to the STL
Science Center. The science is pretty much for kids (or adult utter
morons!) and I even got to point out to Zachary how there was a
glaring error on an antique medical equipment display when they had a
nitrous tank labeled "NO2" rather than "N20" as NO2 is nitric oxide
and a deadly poison! They eventually corrected it. Lots of hands on
stuff that kids love.

You want fun? Go to the City Museum! They even serve liquor! See how
many places you can physically climb up on, through and inside! Very
challenging. And FUN!

I forgot to mention the City Museum. That's another thing people
drive hundreds of miles to go to. No climbing for me for several
months. They unlocked my Borg appliance yesterday. Boy, that
ultrasound thing at the occ ther really worked. I got 5 degrees extra
of both flexion and extension afterward.

I don't have a violin. I do have a viola that I play rather poorly.
I tried playing my fretless bass last week. PAIN! Still, I'm going
to use the bass and my Blueshawk as rehabilitation aids. Maybe I
should re-string the viola too. I can play it upright with the body
resting in my lap, bowing it like a cello. Since The Bonobos broke
up, I've hardly touched any instruments, but that's been over a year
and a half, and I should have been over the grieving by now.
When I first met our violist, she had just broken her hand. I was
sitting across a table from her and she was telling someone that one
thing that sucked about her injury is that she wasn't able to play her
viola. I recruited her on the spot. What a catch for the band, a
classically trained violist who was a punk rocker, and was beautiful,
funny and intellectually brilliant to boot. Damnit I miss that band.
I'll never play with a more talented group again, and I feel like I
personally blew the best chance I'll ever have of playing Rock'n Roll
live on a regular basis. Who the fuck takes 11+ years to produce an
album of (IMO) such quality, then breaks up before ever doing even one
post-release show? It was my personal incompetence as a person and a
businessperson that's more to blame for the failure of The Bonobos
than any other factor, and I'll never get that opportunity again. At
best, I'll start a band playing absurd songs, that might be clever,
but...I should quit whining.
