Original Siamese Cat Albinism Experiment?

I am curious if anyone knows who and/or when the original experiment was conducted that showed that albinism in Siamese cats was temperature dependent. In this experiment the researchers raised two liters of kittens from the same parents. One was raised in the north where it was very cold and the other in the hot south.
