k our teacher had given us two unkowns; one solid and one liquid. and we are to determine what they are. i have done the IR for both, the melting pt for the solid and the density for the liquid. what are some other tests i can run to see what excalty are my unkowns. and they are both different unknowns also.
for the liquid my teacher told me its molcular form to be: C7H8O (seven C, eight H, and one O)
n for the solid C7H5O2Cl (seven C, five H, two O and Cl)
for my solid i had a clear white powder, weight .1357g, and melting pt 141.4-143.4
for my lq i had the weight of 4.4643g, density 1.01 and when i did the lithmus paper test, (on blue) nothing happen...PLS CAN SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT OTHER TEST I CAN PREFORM TO SEE WHAT MY UNKOWNS ARE!!
THANKS
